PANS-OPS Basic
This is the initial training programme for future Flight Procedure Designers and Regulators.
The course follows a fixed three-month schedule and requires approximately two full study days per week. It combines structured video tuition, clearly defined weekly objectives, small learning groups and a live Zoom review session every week.
The online phase is followed by a ten-day face-to-face design project in the Zurich area, where participants apply the methods and concepts developed during the course.
Before registering, applicants must complete the Basic Course Prerequisite Test and the ANI English Language Test, unless they are native English speakers or hold an accepted equivalent certificate. A minimum English score of 61/100, corresponding to C1 Advanced, is required.
Participants must also obtain the book Instrument Flight Procedures by Jens Gjerlev before the course begins.

PANS-OPS Advanced PBN Classroom

The SBAS Missed Approach Electronic Bulletin
What does the new ICAO Electronic Bulletin mean for procedure designers?
This focused live-stream course explains:
- what action is required for existing SBAS procedures;
- why the proposed mitigation measures work;
- how the different cases should be assessed;
- what must be considered when designing new SBAS procedures.
The course consists of three consecutive days, with one two-hour live Zoom session per day.
Participants will receive a practical explanation of the bulletin, its technical background and its application to both existing and newly developed procedures.
